CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT

Please submit an abstract if you would like to be considered for a poster session or an invited short talk (you will have the option to pick your preference, poster or oral during the submission process. Your preference will be considered but cannot be guaranteed). Note that you have to submit two files corresponding to short (100 words) and extended (one page) versions of your abstract.

FORMAT

The short 100-word abstract will be printed in the abstract book that every participant will receive at the beginning of the conference. It consists of 100 words (equivalent to 1,500 characters) to be entered in a text box. No figures or tables – text only.

The 1-page extended abstract will be included on the DVD that every participant will receive. 1-page extended abstract (to be uploaded as an attachment):

  • SIZE: one white 8.5″ X 11″ (US Letter) page
  • MARGINS: 1-inch (25.4 mm) left, right, top, bottom.
  • TITLE: Centered, bold capital letters, Times New Roman 12 points
  • AUTHOR(S): Centered, presenting author underlined, Times New Roman 12 points
  • AFFILIATION(S) AND FULL ADDRESS (ES): Centered, italic, 10 point.
    In the case of different affiliations of the authors, specify with superscript 1, 2, etc.
    Include e-mail of corresponding author.
  • MAIN TEXT: Times New Roman 12 points. Left and right justified. No indent.
  • FIGURES: Located within the text
  • REFERENCES: Placed in square brackets [1, 2, …] in the text and cited at the
    bottom of the abstract.
  • LIMIT: 1 page

POSTER AWARDS

Eligibility: Graduate students or young scientists having defended their Ph. D. thesis no earlier than January 1, 2011. If you would like to be considered, you will be asked to upload a 3-slide power point presentation to be understood by an interdisciplinary audience – please submit as ONE PDF document.
